It has been a long road, but we are delighted to announce that our brand-new changing rooms are now fully open and in use.
The project, which cost just over £85,000 and was funded through a combination of a Football Foundation grant, local council support, and incredible community fundraising, has transformed the player experience at Grassroots Recreation Ground.
The new facilities include four fully accessible changing rooms, each with hot showers and individual cubicles, a referees room, an accessible toilet, and improved drainage to tackle the old flooding issues once and for all.
At the official opening on Saturday 1 March, the Mayor cut the ribbon alongside Jenny Walsh, Chair of the Cambridgeshire FA, who praised the club for its commitment to improving facilities for young players.
Club Secretary Maria Chen said: "This has been a real team effort — coaches, parents, and the whole community came together to make this happen. Seeing the players faces when they walked in for the first time made every cake sale and quiz night worth it."
